A cycling coach that messages you first

Almost every cycling training app works the same way: you open the app, look at the session and do it. If you slept badly, if rain is coming or if you only have 40 minutes today, it's up to you to notice and change the plan.

A good coach doesn't wait. It messages you first. That's what NUA does: it looks at your data, your schedule and the weather, and it writes to you when there's something to decide.

What "messages you first" means

Not generic "time to train!" notifications. Messages with context, because NUA knows:

  • How you slept: sleep, HRV and resting heart rate from your watch.
  • What you've done: every ride synced from your Garmin, Wahoo, COROS, Polar or Intervals.icu.
  • What's next: your plan, your goal and your weekly load.
  • What the weather will do: rain, wind and temperature where you'll ride.
  • What you told it: that you travel on Thursday, your knee is sore or Saturday is the sportive.

Examples of real messages

In the morning, after a bad night

"Morning. You slept 5 h 40 and your HRV is below your average. Let's move the threshold intervals to tomorrow and do 45 minutes in Z2 today. I'm adjusting your food too."

Before you ride, if the weather changes

"You're heading out in 20 minutes: 9 °C and a north wind. Take a gilet and a gel. I've changed the route so you come home with a tailwind."

When a session no longer fits

"I see you have a meeting until 7 pm today. The 2-hour ride won't fit. Shall we do 50 minutes with 3 × 8 min on the trainer, or move it to Thursday?"

After training

"Good session: all three intervals in zone and your heart rate came down well between them. Recovery ride tomorrow. Try to get some carbs in at dinner."

Before a sportive

"3 days to go. Forecast is 28 °C on the final climb. Tomorrow we'll practise the fuelling plan: 60 g of carbs per hour and a bottle with electrolytes."

Why it matters

The days you most need a coach are the days you don't feel like opening the app. When you're tired, busy or unmotivated. That's when a well-timed message changes the week.

And adjusting early is cheap. Moving intervals by a day because you slept badly beats doing them badly and dragging the fatigue all week.

How it compares

Plan app ChatGPT Human coach NUA
Messages you in the morning Fixed notification No Sometimes Yes, with your sleep and the weather
Changes the session if you sleep badly Some If you ask If you tell them Yes, and explains why
Alerts you if the weather changes — No Rarely Yes
Available any time Yes Yes No Yes

You decide how much it writes

Some riders want the plan every morning; others only want a message when something changes. Because it's a conversation and not an alert system, you tell NUA just as you'd tell your coach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a cycling app that messages me every morning with my workout?

Yes. NUA messages you in the morning with the day's session, adjusted to how you slept (sleep, HRV, resting heart rate), the weather and your schedule. It does it in its app or on WhatsApp and Telegram, without you having to open anything.

Can ChatGPT message me on its own like a coach?

No. ChatGPT answers when you ask. A personal AI agent like NUA reads your data from Garmin, Wahoo, COROS, Polar or Intervals.icu and messages you when it spots something: poor recovery, a change in the weather or a session that no longer fits your day.

What kind of alerts does NUA send?

The day's plan in the morning, reminders before you ride (food, gel, clothing), weather alerts (rain, wind, heat), session changes if you slept badly, and follow-up after training to adjust what comes next.

Will it message me too much?

The idea is that it writes when there's something to decide, not for the sake of it. And because it's a conversation, if you prefer fewer messages or just the morning plan, you tell it.

Do I need an app to get the messages?

Not to start. Start in a minute on WhatsApp, nothing to download. When you want more, there's the NUA app on Google Play (iOS coming soon).
