Cycling Power Zones Calculator

Enter the FTP you already know to get your seven cycling power zones in watts. The result appears right here, with no account and no test.

Don’t know your FTP? Here’s how to test it.

A whole number of watts, from 20 to 600. The calculator uses the FTP you enter; it doesn’t measure, estimate or check it.

How the calculation works

Each zone is a range of percentages of your FTP: 0–55%, 55–75%, 75–90%, 90–105%, 105–120%, 120–150% and 150% or more. A zone starts at its lower percentage, rounded to the nearest watt, and ends one watt before the next zone starts, so the ranges never overlap.

Your result is an unpersonalized starting point. NUA can use your athlete profile, training history and current goals to guide your sessions more fully.

Model and source

NUA’s seven power zones follow Andrew Coggan’s power levels, widely used in cycling. Zones simplify a continuous physiological response; they are not exact points where your body switches energy systems.

These zones and the ones in our guide

Our cycling training zones guide explains what happens in your body at each intensity, using six physiological zones. The first four match these power zones. The guide’s zone 5 covers power zones 5 and 6, and its sprint zone is power zone 7.
